LET’S SET BOUNDARIES!!!

I recently found myself in a situation where I had to put a stop to some interminable nonsense; totally out of the blue, in a very organic way. That’s what we call burn-out these days…I granted myself the freedom to do what is right for me. The feeling of relief afterwards is simply indescribable.

Are we often too scared to set boundaries to protect our sanity? Well, we shouldn’t because nobody else better than ourselves will care more for our wellbeing.

What’s absurd is that we sometimes lock ourselves in a rut for no reason. Stuck in a prison cell with no locks. How lunatic is that? We do not have to accept what does not serve us. We really want to release ourselves from the bondage of remaining in situations that do not serve us. If we don’t serve ourselves, how healthy is it to serve others? We obviously don’t want to put up impenetrable walls stopping even good things coming through. Just enough protection to stay safe.

You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep others warm.

The need for boundaries stems from asking ourselves some elementary questions; what do I want, what are the options in my life toolkit, how do I value myself, who/what serves me…Questions that require brutal honesty with ourselves, some mental clarity, and a good dose of courage.

Wishing you to reach the point of exasperation and start setting boundaries in all aspects of your life, if you hadn’t already.
